One month!

The kittens have been here for one month now and we can't imagine life without them.  They are cute and sweet and funny and we couldn't ask for more!  Here are a few photos from the last couple days.

Thursday night Whiskers fell asleep sitting up!

After watching him waver back and forth, I finally took him in my arms.  I love how he sleeps like a newborn baby when I hold him.  So sweet!

Bryce sat down to play on the Wii next to Whiskers today--and Snowy came over and snuggled in on the other side!  Quite a cute sandwich they all make. :)

Life with kittens, in photos

Hayden and Snowy

Snowy, world's most relaxed cat

Snowy likes zipper pulls, has jumped from the bed to my chest just to get at one!

I finally have a lap cat.  Snowy, in this case.

One of Snowy's sleeping spots--Bryce's shoe cubby!

Bryce and the kittens escaped a noisy lunch we were hosting (11 kids total!) for a little while last Friday.

Not sure who is happier. :)

The only thing better than one lap cat is two lap cats.

Bryce and Snowy.  Doesn't Snowy look like a cat now, not a kitten?

Snowy and I had a morning off again finally.

Whiskers was in on the relaxing morning, also.

See those feet?  Snowy is going to be a BIG cat!!

Hayden had two buddies yesterday after school.

Brotherly Love

If I haven't said so already, I am SO glad we got two kittens.  They fight and play and sleep together and they are so fun to watch chasing each other around.  They also get into trouble together!  For instance, one under the bed knocking pieces of Hayden's lego house out to the other, who'd bat them around and chew on them.  But for the most part, the two of them are a great pair.  Here are a few pics...

Sleeping sweeties.

This was not posed--Whiskers has his arm around Snowy.  Aww.

Doesn't it look like Whiskers is smiling? :)

Bath time

In our old house, Niles would come in when I would take a bath and go to sleep on my towel on the bath mat.  He was a good towel warmer!  Tonight, both the kittens decided to hang out with me.  But they both sat on the edge of the tub, instead of the floor.

My right hand cat, Snowy, looking very regal perched on my towel.

My left hand cat, Whiskers, who was very interested in the water.

And then something happened that I would not believe if I hadn't seen.  Whiskers was on the edge, looking down at the water, and became apparently more curious.  First he dipped in his right paw.  "Jason!" I called out.  "Whiskers is looking for trouble..."  So Jason came in to keep an eye on him.  Whiskers dipped in his left paw next, and Jason laughed.

And then Whiskers took a flying leap into the water!  He did not fall in, he jumped in, very purposefully.  The splash soaked the walls and Snowy, who got the heck out of there.  Whiskers paddled around for a second before Jason could yank him out of the water.  Now, we gave Niles baths multiple times, and it was an experience in (barely) controlled chaos that involved a lot of yowling and a lot of flesh wounds for us.  Whiskers didn't claw Jason when he was pulled out.  He acted like he'd been picked up from the couch, or the floor.  Except of course he was dripping wet.  The kids decided Whiskers, despite being a Scottish Fold, must have some Turkish Van in his blood lines somewhere.  Turkish Vans love water.  And Whiskers seems to like it, too.  But I'd prefer next time he not share the bath with me. ;)

A very unconcerned, very wet Whiskers.  Hayden thinks he is looking extra fluffy tonight, now that he's dried.  Still shaking my head...
