This cat

Sometimes I feel bad I have more pictures of Whiskers than Snowy.  Snowy is a loner a lot of the time, prefers to sleep hidden in a closet or hang out upstairs while the rest of the family is downstairs.  But when he chooses to be, he is the sweetest cat.  Case in point--Bryce is home sick today, and Snowy went and found him, all on his own.  Bryce is SO HAPPY to have a buddy and Snowy looks pretty happy, too.

Spooked Snowy

Jason was acting as a horse, giving Bryce a ride around the kitchen floor.  Snowy was fairly sure it was a 2-headed monster.  His hair was standing up from his neck to the tip of his tail, poor cat. ;)

Grumpy Cat

Jason says Whiskers always looks mad.  This is ironic, because he is just about the happiest, most good-natured cat ever.  Nonetheless, sometimes he does look grouchy even though he's quite content.  Case in point...

Snowy's Skills

Since he was a few months old, Snowy has loved foil balls.  He carries them in his mouth like a dog and purposefully knocks them under the shelves so he can retrieve them.  If we get out foil in the kitchen for cooking, he comes running just from the sound.  And we realized a month or two ago that he wants to play fetch!  He will come drop a foil ball next to us on the couch, or in the lego box we are playing with, or recently in the Halloween pumpkin (see the perils of this, below!).  The other night he kept playing, so I finally got it captured on film.  He is pretty smart!

A typical evening

Whiskers being Whiskers, sweetest cat ever.

Snowy all stretched out, looking cute.  He is not remotely snuggly, but he does like to stay near us. :)

My buddy

I had a few minutes to sit down for the first time in a while, and Whiskers graced me with his company.  He takes up a lot more room on the couch than he did last spring when we'd sit together!

His tail isn't as big as Snowy's, but it looks huge here!

Extreme Beading

The glass desk adds a whole new element to beading.  Hayden was trying to make a necklace and Snowy was very intrigued!

Legos and Kittens

For the most part, the kittens like to be wherever we are.  Today that meant in the middle of a lego town.  We had a little fun with Whiskers when he was sleeping...

Sure, just lay right down in the middle of our town, Whiskers.

Aren't I cute?

Now that I have fooled you into thinking I am cute, I will eat your post light!!

Snowy hung out at the airport.

How many lego minifigures can you fit on Whiskers before he wakes up?

Answer:  All of them.  And he didn't wake up.

Snowy finally came over to see what we were doing.  Whiskers could not care less.
P.S.
We weighed the kittens with the Wii Fit just now and Whiskers is now almost 9 lbs and Snowy is just over 10 lbs!  Whiskers is catching up to him!

It's a good thing they're cute

The kittens are very much into their teenager stage, rebellious and a lot more rotten.  And a lot higher maintenance.  (The hair, good glory, the HAIR...)  But then every few days, they'll do something like this, and it is impossible to be mad at them.

Snowy these days

Snowy has the biggest, fluffiest tail you can imagine.

Photo by Hayden, silly Snowy hanging out behind the couch.

Snowy is NOT a lapcat, but he did let me nap behind him the other day.  Photo by Bryce.

Niles used to like to steal Jason's computer chair, too. :)

Hayden took this photo the other night, was impressed how long Snowy is. :)

Whiskers these days

Whiskers and Hayden the other morning.

Catzilla dominating our lego town

Hanging out in Jason's shoes, because he can.
Hayden had a cold last weekend and Whiskers was there to make her feel better.

Another day, another lego structure to dominate.

Aerodynamics. Or something.

One of the quirks of these kittens is their furry back feet.  Whiskers' are wild, the fur growing in all directions, like an ewok or something.  Snowy's feet have pointed tufts of fur that remind me of the fins on a classic car.  They both are very good at sliding on the wood floors, perhaps due to this special feature.  Who knows?  Regardless, it is charming.  At least to us. :)
