Whiskers and the Roomba

Whiskers thinks the Roomba is a fine place to hang out.

Maybe it is warm like the laptop??  No idea, but he gets on there a lot.  And at least a dozen times, he has turned the Roomba on.  The last two times, he turned Roomba on AND went for a ride.  See below...

Reasons you shouldn't leave your laptop open

Reasons you shouldn't leave your laptop open when you are not using it. (And sadly, all of this is true. These kittens are like toddlers. Adorable, but a handful.):

1. Today one of the kittens set Windows to make my computer pswd protected. Came downstairs, and it was LOCKED.
2. This morning, some kitten changed my search engine from google to Amazon. Took me about 10 failed searches before I figured out the problem. lol Didn't even know you could change the search window like that, but the kittens apparently did.
3. The other day, one posted an inspirational message to my friend Alina.
4. One of them emailed Ann another day.

5.  In his sleepiness, Whiskers changed the screen brightness to almost black so I could hardly read what I was typing. How you do that by walking across the keyboard, I do not know.
 6. See photos of what I found when we got home from the store just now. I had left it open because I was in the middle of uploading a video (yes, of the kittens, SHUT UP). Lesson learned. Until I forget and leave the laptop open again.

Sorry to have woken you up, Whiskers!
I have been told laptops are warm and cozy, if you are a cat.  Whiskers agrees.

7.  A screen shot of what I found when I forgot and left the laptop open AGAIN the other night.  Whiskers opened up some weird Xfinity search window, all by himself, and conducted several searches.  See photo...

For reals.  He turned on caps lock (AGAIN, they always hit that one) and then searched for gibberish.  Kittens rock. :)

Good Medicine

Hayden is home sick today.  I think just a minor cold, just needs some extra rest.  The kittens, Whiskers in particular, are helping her to feel better.  See photos.

Whiskers!
Sleepy Whiskers keeping Hayden company.

I brought Snowy up to join the party and found Hayden sleeping!

Whiskers looks like he is hugging her.  Aww!
Doesn't get much sweeter, does it?

Still napping an hour later!
Snowy is SO LONELY, keeps going up to see where his buddy is.

Hayden woke up, switched sides, and snuggled back to sleep with Whiskers.

How we can tell them apart

Multiple people have asked how we can tell our matching kittens apart.  The obvious differences are that Whiskers has blue eyes--and he is a pound and several inches smaller!  Here are some side by side photos where you can see that difference more clearly...

Whiskers on the left, if you can't tell!

Bryce told me to take a photo of him, too, so here you go. ;)

Two-headed cat! ;)  Whiskers in front, see the blue eyes?

Whiskers left, Snowy right.

Watching birds on the feeder.  They love their cat tree!

Just looking cute, Whiskers on the L again.

Visitors!

The kittens are garnering as much attention as a new baby.  Maybe more. ;)  Here are just a few of the visitors we've had this week.  I am not exaggerating when I say everyone falls in love with the kittens when they see them.  These kittens could turn anyone into a Crazy Cat Lady (or Guy) I am pretty sure.  They are charming in every sense of the word!

Rinku and Whiskers, glowing in the sun.  Rinku loves cats so much she brought her own camera to take pics!  When she lived in India, her neighbors discovered she had a soft spot for cats and kept leaving stray cats at her door.  At one point she had 15 cats!  Here in the U.S., she only has 1, though. :)

Rinku and Natasha with both kitties.  It was Natasha's first time meeting kittens and she had a great time playing with them. :)

Willow came home with Hayden to meet the kittens.  Here she has Whiskers and Hayden has Snowy.

Willow was there all of 3 minutes before she had both cats on her.  She is pretty sweet, and they are pretty friendly. :)

Cooper came to visit after his last basketball game today.  Here he is with Snowy.  The kittens put on quite a show for him and his family today!

I am officially a Crazy Cat Lady

Snowy, out of nowhere, jumped on my back.  My first thought was not, holy crap his claws are sharp!  Or, what in the...?  But instead I thought, I MUST have a photo of this.  Whilst hunched over with the cat balancing on my shoulder, I got the disk out of my computer, put it back in my camera and here you go.  I am entering a 12-step program soon.  Thank you for your concern.  And yes, that is my robe.  I am cold.  I am wearing jeans and a sweater.  And a robe.  Actually, thank God for the robe because his claws are like razors!  The chairs are on the table because roomba is running around.  You know, typical Thursday.

First Vet Visit

The kittens were not thrilled with the car ride (at ALL) but were very curious exploring the vet office.  After having a cat we had to literally pry out of the carrier, it was so funny to have two kittens who couldn't wait to get out and explore!  They are both super healthy and charmed the staff.  Whiskers now weighs 2.5 lbs (a 1 lb. gain since his 8 week appt.!) and Snowy clocked in at 3.5 pounds, so he gained just over a pound in 4 weeks. Snowy did awesome with the shots, did not make a peep, but Whiskers cried so loudly it almost made ME cry. :(  I know it is to keep them healthy and very important, but I felt terrible.  They did fine with the checkup portion, were not afraid of Dr. Craig at all.  We love our vet!!  http://www.poulsboanimalclinic.com/

After the vet visit, the kittens got to meet our friend Shannon.  They played for a while and then have been sleeping away the afternoon.  Here are LOTS of photos from the day.

As when they arrived at our house, Whiskers was the first one out.  But Snowy was close behind!

Nosey!!

There was an emergency prior to our visit so we had to wait a bit.  I made paper balls for the kittens to bat at.

Snowy became increasingly agitated, so I put the fellas back in the box to chill out.  See his sad little meow face? :(

Another paper toy I devised.  I know, I know--I should go into the cat toy business.

Whiskers did NOT like the stethoscope so Tovah had to count his heartbeats the old fashioned way.
Dr. Craig checked on Snowy first and pronounced him to be big and healthy.

Then it was Whiskers' turn.

Open up and say Ahhhh!

Just chillin', waiting for their shots.

Snowy could barely stay awake!

Seriously--how cute is this cat?

Can you imagine feeling this relaxed at YOUR doctor? :)

Bryce's drawing of the day--Whiskers on his lap and Snowy beside him. :)

The boys how we found them after karate class.  Rough day, clearly. ;)
